Maha Shivaratri Celebrations at OM Ashram
The celebration of Maha Shivaratri is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is observed on the 14th night of the lunar month, just before the new moon (Amavasya).

On this auspicious occasion, our respected Gurudev, Sri Vishwaguru Mahamandaleshwar Paramhans Swami Maheshwarananda Ji, attended a grand celebration at the Shiva Temple in OM Ashram.

On Maha Shivaratri, devotees performed day and night-long worshiping of Lord Shiva to seek his blessings. Worshipping the Lord Shiva symbolizes the overcoming of darkness and ignorance in life.

The celebration marks the divine marriage of Shiva and Parvati and is believed to be the night when Shiva performs his cosmic dance, the Tandava.

The divine union of Shiva (consciousness, the masculine principle) and Shakti (energy, the feminine principle) symbolizes the balance between stillness and movement, which is essential for cosmic harmony and personal transformation.

Maha Shivaratri is not just a festival but a path to self-discovery and enlightenment.

"The Great Night of Shiva" took place in the beautifully handcrafted stone Shiva Temple, the central building of OM Ashram.

According to legend, Lord Shiva appeared as an infinite column of light (Jyotirlinga) on this night, beyond beginning and end.

The Shiva Lingam in the OM Ashram Temple is remarkable, as it symbolizes all 12 Jyotirlingas and is surrounded by 1,008 Shiva statues.

More than 11,000 visitors attended the Maha Shivaratri celebration at the Shiva Temple in OM Ashram.

Har Har Mahadev! May Lord Shiva bless you with peace, strength, and prosperity.
